Troops Increase Security Measures Following Threat Letter by Suspected Kidnappers

Troops of the Nigerian Army have stepped up security operations in Anwar Hali village, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following the discovery of a suspected kidnap threat letter.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:45 a.m. on May 1, when troops under Sector 7, Sub-Sector 75, were alerted by residents to a suspicious message found within the community.

According to the sources, the letter, written in Hausa, reportedly contained two rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and a telephone number allegedly provided by the perpetrators for contact.

In a swift response, troops reportedly established contact with the number and recorded the conversation as part of preliminary investigative procedures.

“The situation is being handled with due diligence, and efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend those behind the threat,” a security source said.

Residents have been reassured of their safety, with authorities confirming that surveillance and patrol activities have been significantly intensified across the area.

Security officials emphasised that proactive engagement and rapid response measures remain critical to preventing potential attacks and maintaining public confidence in affected communities.
