President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across all regions of Nigeria, assuring that no part of the country will be left behind.
Speaking in Kaduna on Tuesday through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, Tinubu addressed stakeholders at a two-day citizens’ engagement session organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
He emphasized that the event would present empirical data to show that the North has not been neglected, as some have feared.
Highlighting the achievements of his Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu noted strides made in economic reforms, education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, and food security.
On the economy, the president said bold measures—such as exchange rate unification and debt restructuring—were implemented to stabilize and grow Nigeria’s economy.
He acknowledged that while the removal of fuel subsidy has been painful, it was a necessary step that saved trillions of naira. He added that the government has introduced palliative measures through state governments, MSME support, and improvements in public transportation to cushion its impact.
Tinubu also pointed to investments in modernizing security infrastructure and personnel training, while listing ongoing priority projects, including:
Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway
Kano-Maradi and Port Harcourt-Maiduguri rail lines
Housing and infrastructure upgrades nationwide
The president reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to:
Reforming the economy for sustained growth
Strengthening national security
Boosting agriculture for food self-sufficiency
Unlocking energy and natural resources
Expanding infrastructure and transportation networks
Tinubu concluded by assuring Nigerians that his government is focused on long-term transformation, not quick fixes, and would continue to engage citizens transparently and inclusively.
