Tangwami Emerges Winner of Adamawa South APC Senatorial Primary

The Immediate past Commissioner of Health in Adamawa State, Dr Felix Tangwami has been declared winner of the Senatorial  primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa South.

The result was announced in Numan by the Chairman and Returning Officer of the APC Senatorial Primary Committee for Adamawa Southern Zone, Usman Mapeo, who noted that the exercise was conducted across the nine local government areas of the zone, namely Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, Toungo, Guyuk and Shelleng.

Announcing the breakdown of the results, Mapio said Tangwami polled 103,762 votes to beat his opponents who include Ahmed Abubakar who secured 10,220 votes; Grace Folashade Bent 15,238 votes; Rubainu Calvin 2,207 votes; Charles Luri Bala 12,977 votes; Adamu Ismaila 19,457 votes; Dahiru Lawan Sanda 2,712 votes; Peter Leonard  Fwa 9,537 votes and Martins Babale 11,565 votes.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri is widely believed to have won the primary election in Adamawa North Zone, but the result was yet to be officially announced when this report was filed.

The primary election has not been conducted in Adamawa Central Zone after the state chapter of the APC announced before the Monday election that the election in the zone had been postponed.
