State Visit: President Tinubu Arrives Anambra, Set to Commission Historic Projects

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Thursday for an official visit, marking a significant milestone in the state’s history.

Touching down at Chinua Achebe Airport at approximately 12:15 p.m., the President was welcomed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and other top state officials.

During the visit, President Tinubu will inaugurate Anambra State’s first-ever Government House—a historic achievement more than 30 years after the state’s creation. The commissioning marks a major milestone in Governor Soludo’s administration.

In addition to the Government House, the President is also expected to commission several other key projects executed under Soludo’s leadership.

Speaking ahead of the event on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okoma, described the new Government House as a long-awaited accomplishment for the people of the state.

“For 34 years, Anambra has been the only state without a Government House. We operated from a makeshift facility outside the state capital in Amawbia,” Okoma said.

“Today, by the grace of God and under the leadership of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, we now have a Government House spanning nearly 8 hectares of land. It will be the largest and greenest state house in the country.”

This marks President Tinubu’s second visit to the South-East this year. He had previously visited Enugu State in January, where he held a town hall meeting with key stakeholders and commissioned several projects, including the Solution Fun City.
