The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) intensified its enforcement operations on Thursday, sealing multiple establishments across the Alimosho area for persistent noise pollution and other breaches of environmental regulations.
The crackdown covered key areas within Alimosho, including Egbeda, Igando, Gowon Estate, and Shasha. Affected facilities ranged from hotels and lounges to religious centers and a bakery—all flagged for various environmental infractions.
Among the sealed establishments were Hellious Lounge Bar, Hope of Glory International Redemption Church, Okla Royal Hotel & Masara Entertainment, Olorunisola Hotel, Aloma Hotel & Suites, Let’s Go There Hotel & Lounge, a bakery, Demeg Hotel, De Emmy Hotel & Suites, Goodtime Palace, and Alhaja Fausatu Bankole Mosque.
Speaking during the operation, LASEPA General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s zero-tolerance policy toward environmental offences, particularly noise pollution, which he said poses serious threats to public health and community well-being.
“Noise pollution and related offences harm public health and disrupt community peace. Our actions today reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the environment and promoting a healthier Lagos we can all be proud of,” Dr. Ajayi stated.
He further warned that LASEPA will continue to exercise its full regulatory authority under the Lagos State Environmental Protection Law of 2017 against violators, regardless of status or affiliation.
