GOVERNORS of states troubled by insecurity are currently tightening the rope ends against bandits, with Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State next in line to sign into law, the Security Challenges (Containment) Order No 3, 2021.
Coming on the heels of Governors of Katsina and Zamfara states pronouncement, Tambuwal, added that government took the measure out of the need to introduce additional security measures in the affected areas in order to contain banditry.
The governor, in the exercise of powers conferred upon him by the Subsection (2) of Section 176 of the Constitution, announced that the order took effect immediately (September 1, 2021).

Among the orders are, “The immediate total closure of Isa-Marnona Road to all motorists and advised travellers plying the road to go through Goronyo-Sabon Birni axis. Lorries/trucks or other vehicles carrying firewood from the forests are also prohibited.
