Sit-at-home records partial compliance in Enugu

THE suspension of the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Monday witnessed partial compliance by residents of Enugu metropolis.

Markets, parks, malls, petrol stations and restaurants were open, but major roads and streets witnessed low traffic and turnout of residents as business activities could not peak as usual following the development.

Although IPOB had repeatedly announced indefinite suspension of the sit-at-home order, residents continued to stay at home for fear of being attacked by hoodlums.

At the state secretariat, dozens of workers who came to office were later seen at the pavements discussing in groups.

However, no commissioner or any appointee of the government was seen in the office when our correspondent visited the state secretariat around 10 am on Monday.
