The Osun State Police Command has extended warm Easter greetings to all Christian faithful in the state, assuring residents of strengthened security measures during the festive period.
A statement released on Thursday and signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, described Easter as a season of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal.
The release noted that the police command has put in place comprehensive security arrangements to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.
“Personnel have been strategically deployed to churches, recreational facilities, major highways, and other public areas to prevent disturbances and ensure a smooth and secure Easter celebration,” the statement said.
CP Ibrahim Gotan directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Units to intensify patrols, maintain high visibility, and conduct intelligence-gathering operations throughout the festive period.
The command emphasized that officers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy while performing their duties.
Members of the public were urged to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station. Parents and guardians were also advised to closely supervise their wards and discourage unlawful behaviour.
The statement reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and crime-free Easter celebration, while wishing all Christian faithful a joyous and safe festive season.
