Reality tv star Liquorose recounts painful moment she was dropped backstage at BBNaija 2020 despite being fully dressed and ready to enter the house

Dancer and reality TV star Liquorose has opened up about a difficult moment in her journey to Big Brother Naija, revealing that she actually came close to entering the show in 2020 before everything fell apart at the last minute.

Speaking on a podcast with VJ Adams, Liquorose said she had already passed the stages, dressed up, makeup done, and was waiting backstage during the 2020 live launch show — only for the organisers to drop her unexpectedly.

According to her, the experience left her depressed and made her question whether she still wanted to pursue her dream of being on the show.

Liquorose and fellow hopeful Jaypaul later discovered they had tested positive for COVID-19, which made them ineligible for that year’s edition.

She said the situation affected her so deeply that she almost refused to audition again in 2021. But after a friend encouraged her, she reluctantly tried once more — and later found the acceptance email sitting unnoticed in her spam folder.

Liquorose eventually made it into the 2021 edition, finishing as the season’s runner-up behind Whitemoney.
