Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged aspiring musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving fame, warning that success in the music industry comes with many distractions.
Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer encouraged upcoming artistes to believe in themselves, continuously improve their craft and stay focused on their goals.
Davido revealed that his passion for music drove him to keep learning, adding that he relied on online resources and people around him to develop his talent.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining a close relationship with God after attaining success.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” Davido added.
