The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed allegations that former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, purchased 69 nomination forms as part of a plan to take control of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The allegation was made by Abdulkadir Musa Giza, who identified himself as chairman of the North-West Stakeholders Forum of the PRP, claiming that Kwankwaso had effectively taken over the party’s structure.
Reacting to the claim on Monday, PRP National Secretary, Alhaji Musa Maigari, described the allegation as false and misleading, stressing that Kwankwaso has no official relationship with the party and did not purchase any nomination forms.
Maigari noted that all positions within the party had already been filled following the conclusion of its primary elections, making the allegation both baseless and ill-timed.
“As it stands, all positions in PRP have been filled. Primary elections are over, and every political party has concluded its primaries,” he said.
He also questioned the credibility of the accuser, insisting that the individual making the claims is not a member of the PRP.
According to Maigari, the alleged North-West Stakeholders Forum is not recognised by the party, and there is no record indicating that Kwankwaso or any of his associates purchased nomination forms from the PRP.
The party secretary described the timing of the allegation as suspicious and urged members of the public to disregard what he called unfounded rumours.
He further advised Nigerians to rely only on information released through the party’s official communication channels.
