President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Wednesday in response to growing public concern over recent killings in the state.
According to reports, the President is expected to visit Yelwata, a community in Guma Local Government Area, which has been among the hardest hit by the attacks.
Tinubu landed at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi at approximately 12:58 p.m. and is scheduled to meet with key stakeholders to address the escalating insecurity and terrorist-related violence that has claimed numerous lives.
In light of the visit, the Benue State Government declared a public holiday to facilitate preparations and public participation.
