Police Recover Body of Unidentified Woman From Jabi Lake in Abuja

The Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from Jabi Lake in Abuja.

UGAMA TV reports that security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident in a post shared on X on Sunday. According to him, the case was reported to the Jabi Division around 10:37 a.m. on Saturday following a distress call from Jabi Lake Recreation.

Police detectives who arrived at the scene discovered the body of a woman, believed to be about 60 years old, floating on the lake.

Sources revealed there were no visible signs of violence on her body, but a pair of green slippers was found on the bank of the lake.

“Because the body was already decomposed, the Environmental Health Department was contacted to evacuate it to avoid health risks,” Makama stated.

The FCT Police Command said investigations are ongoing to identify the woman and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
