Peter Obi Meets Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, Discusses National Issues

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, on Thursday met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.

Obi, who disclosed the meeting on his verified X handle, described Jonathan as his “elder brother, statesman, and leader.” He said their closed-door engagement was “fruitful” and centered on national issues.

“Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation,” Obi wrote.

UGAMA TV reports that the meeting comes amid growing speculation within political circles linking both Jonathan and Obi as possible presidential contenders under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 elections.
