They also accused Ogungbenro of not calling any meeting to plan for the Ondo State governorship election which the party lost as well as the bye-elections held in Lagos State which the APC also won.

The committee also said the reconciliation committee headed by former Governor Olaginsoye Oyinlola was not known to the party, describing it as a waste of time and exercise in futility.

The caretaker committee at the meeting also appointed, former Governor Ayo Fayose’s media aide, Mr Lere Olayinka, as the spokesman for the party in the region.

Olayinka, when contacted by our correspondent on the telephone confirmed his new appointment.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Diran Odeyemi, when contacted on the telephone confirmed the suspension of Ogungbenro to our correspondent.

However, efforts to speak with Ogungbenro were not successful as he did not respond to calls put across to him by our correspondent and had yet to reply to a text message sent to him.
