The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has extended a warm and symbolic welcome to Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, ahead of his visit to Achi in Oji River Local Government Area.

In a goodwill message issued on Saturday and signed by the group’s National Secretary, Comrade Obinna Achionye, Ohanaeze youths described Governor Mbah as a trailblazer whose leadership has redefined public governance and accelerated development across Enugu State.

“We heartily welcome the record-breaking governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, to Achi community in Oji River Local Government Area,” the statement read.

Speaking further, the youth organisation applauded Governor Mbah’s numerous people-oriented projects, stressing that his performance since assuming office has vindicated their early support and endorsement before the 2023 elections.

“On behalf of our National President, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, a proud son of Achi, we welcome the people’s governor. We have always identified with His Excellency, going by the numerous people-oriented projects he has been carrying out in Enugu State,” Achionye stated.

The group also urged residents of Achi and neighbouring communities to turn out en masse and accord the Governor a rousing reception, describing the visit as a celebration of excellence, inclusion and community partnership.

Ohanaeze youths further commended the Governor for opening opportunities for young people in the state through recent appointments, noting that such empowerment reinforces their confidence in his administration.

“His excellent performance in office justifies our endorsement prior to the 2023 election. It is reassuring, and we reaffirm our unflinching support to his administration,” the statement added.

Governor Mbah’s visit to Achi is expected to deepen government–citizen engagement as well as spotlight the community’s strategic importance in Enugu’s development agenda.
