OGUN ASSEMBLY CLEARS TWO LG CHAIRMEN

The Ogun State House of Assembly, has extended the tenures of the Transition Chairman of Remo-North, Abiodun Somoye; and his Ogun Waterside counterpart, Femi Onanuga, after clearing them of allegations earlier leveled against them.

The decision was taken during Thursday’s plenary held at the State Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta

The clearance of the two chairmen was withheld when 18 of their colleagues had their tenures extended. The decision to withhold the clearance was to allow investigations into petitions filed against them.

Speaker of the assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, who presided over the session, said the resolution titled, “HR. No. 084/OG/2020- Report of the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on the Confirmation of Extension of Tenure of Office of Local Government Transition Chairmen; had been passed .

The passage of the resolution   followed the presentation of the report of the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by the Chairman, Akeem Balogun, who thereafter moved the motion for its adoption, seconded by the Minority Leader, Ganiyu Oyedeji, and supported by the whole House through a voice vote.
