No Superstar Above the Rules: League Slams Ronaldo’s Transfer Complaints

The Saudi Pro League has warned Al Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo that “no individual – however significant – determines decisions beyond their own club.”

This is a response to Ronaldo’s frustration over his team’s lack of activity the January transfer window.

The 41-year-old is not happy with Al Nassr’s failure to make new signings.

Ronaldo missed one league match already and is said to be considering skipping the next game against Al-Ittihad on Friday.

In a statement on Thursday, the league insisted that clubs act independently even with their finances.

“The Saudi Pro League is built on a simple idea: every club works independently but follows the same rules,” it read in part.

It added: “Like any top player, he wants to win. But no one, not even a superstar, can decide what happens outside their own team.”
