Nigerian doctor cries out after a female colleague was flogged by a patient at a government hospital in Yobe state (video)

A Nigerian doctor, Alamin Usman, has cried out after a female colleague was allegedly flogged by a patient at Government hospital, Damaturu in Yobe state.

According to Usman, the male patient felt aggrieved that the doctor failed to attend to him, so he picked a stick and used it to flog her seriously.

‘’Today we woke up to the devastating and rather heartbreaking news about a medical doctor in General Hospital, Damaturu, Yobe state who was flogged by a patient because of her delay in reviewing his file. This came after the patient was called severally with no answer. The doctor was about to end her shift and she decided to hand over the patient’s file to her colleague. This patient after series of abuses, followed her outside, cut down a piece from a tree and flogged her. He flooged her in front of people. He flogged a female who was there to save lives. Just because he feels that he is in a society that accepts it, sees it and allows it.”

The story has sparked an outrage online with many calling for the arrest and prosecution of the said patient.
