Nigeria Misses Out Again as 2026 U-17 AFCON Groups Revealed

 

 

 

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, on Wednesday concluded the draw for this year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

 

 

The competition will be played from May 13 to June 2, 2026.

 

Hosts Morocco are in Group A alongside Ethiopia, Egypt, and Tunisia.

 

 

Group B will see former champions, Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon, alongside Uganda and debutants DR Congo.

 

In Group C, Mali has been drawn against Angola, Mozambique, and Tanzania.

 

 

Group D has Senegal and South Africa

 

Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

 

Nigeria will not feature in the tournament for the second consecutive edition.

 

 

2026 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations – Groups:

 

Group A: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ethiopia

Group B: Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda, DR Congo

Group C: Mali, Angola, Tanzania, Mozambique

Group D: Senegal, South Africa, Algeria, Ghana
