The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has congratulated Dr. Martins Chukwunwaike on his successful election as the Enugu State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Chukwunwaike emerged as the state party chairman during the APC State Congress held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Enugu.
In a congratulatory message conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo described Dr. Chukwunwaike’s emergence as well-deserved, citing his competence, leadership capacity, and longstanding commitment to party growth and unity.
The Awgu Council boss further commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, for his leadership style and inclusive political approach, noting that the emergence of an Awgu indigene as state party chairman reflects growing recognition of the zone’s contributions to party development.
Hon. Okolo emphasized that Awgu had earlier demonstrated its loyalty and solidarity during the local government APC congress, where stakeholders unanimously endorsed Governor Mbah. He reaffirmed that Ndi Awgu remain resolute in their commitment to deliver 100 percent support in the 2027 general elections as a show of appreciation and continued partnership.
Describing Dr. Chukwunwaike as “tested and trusted,” the Chairman assured the new state leadership of his total support and cooperation, expressing confidence that under his stewardship, the APC in Enugu State will witness strengthened unity, strategic growth, and renewed political momentum.
He concluded by wishing the new chairman a successful tenure marked by progress, stability, and victory for the party across the state.
