The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed a total of 75,544 kilograms of skunk during major operations across forests in Edo, Delta, Ondo, and Taraba States.
NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, noting that the raids were part of the agency’s intensified fight against illicit drugs.
According to him, operatives destroyed:
14,233.37kg of skunk on four plantations measuring 5.69 hectares in Ebule Forest, Owan West LGA, Edo State (Aug. 20).
25,500kg on four plantations covering 10.2 hectares in Emu-Obiogu, Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State (Aug. 21).

7,500kg on three hectares at Dadin-Kowa village, Bali LGA, Taraba State (Aug. 20), in collaboration with the NSCDC.
In addition, 901kg was evacuated from a warehouse in Uzebba, Edo, leading to the arrest of a 54-year-old female suspect on August 19.
Babafemi further revealed that NDLEA operatives arrested two dispatch riders in Abuja on August 21 during a stop-and-search operation in Jabi. The suspects, aged 29 and 35, were caught distributing illicit substances, including 300 milligrams of pentazocine injection and 8.64 grams of skunk packaged for delivery.
He stressed that NDLEA commands nationwide continue to advance the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign through sensitisation in schools, worship centres, workplaces, and communities.
