The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has extended warm Mother’s Day greetings to the women and mothers of Ndi Awgu, praising their invaluable role in shaping families and society.
In a heartfelt message to mark the Mother’s Day celebration of March 15, 2026, the council chairman commended mothers for their sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering commitment to nurturing future generations.
The message, which was conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media, Tochukwu Chukwu, described mothers as the “pillars of the human race and a blessing to the world,” emphasizing that their contributions remain fundamental to community development and societal stability.
Hon. Okolo reassured women in Awgu of his administration’s continued commitment to policies and initiatives that promote their welfare, empowerment, and inclusion in local governance. According to him, supporting women remains central to sustainable development at the grassroots.
The chairman also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, for his dedication to women’s empowerment and for ensuring strong female representation and inclusiveness in government policies and decision-making processes.
He pledged that the Awgu Local Government Council would continue to complement the governor’s efforts by implementing programs that uplift women and strengthen their participation in community development.
Hon. Okolo concluded by offering prayers for good health, prosperity, and continued blessings for all mothers in Awgu and across the world, noting that their love, strength, and guidance remain the foundation of a better society.
