Man arrested for allegedly raping girlfriend’s 3-year-old son

Free State police have arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly raping his girlfriend’s three-year-old son. The incident is reported to have occurred at a farm in Ficksburg this past Friday.

 

 

 

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring, the alleged assault took place after the 24-year-old mother left her son in the care of her boyfriend to attend a funeral at a nearby farm. Upon her return, the child was crying and reported that the boyfriend had s3xually assaulted him.

 

 

 

 

“The mother immediately alerted the police, and the child was taken to hospital for medical examination. The suspect was subsequently arrested,” said Mophiring.

 

 

 

 

The man is expected to appear in the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face a charge of rape.
