The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon.  Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has extended warm Valentine’s Day felicitations to the good people of Awgu as they join the rest of the world in celebrating love on February 14, 2026.

In a goodwill message delivered through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the Chairman described Valentine’s Day as a powerful reminder of the enduring values of love, unity, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Hon. Okolo emphasized that love remains the foundation of peaceful coexistence and sustainable development, urging Ndi Awgu to embrace one another in the spirit of harmony and collective progress. According to him, Valentine’s Day is not only a celebration of affection but also a sacred season to strengthen bonds, heal differences, and recommit to shared aspirations for a greater Awgu.

The Chairman also used the occasion to commend the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for what he described as transformative leadership anchored on love, peace, prosperity, and inclusive development. He noted that Governor Mbah’s visionary approach has continued to reposition Enugu State as a beacon of growth and innovation a state citizens are proud to call home.

He assured the people that Awgu Local Government will continue to witness people-oriented projects and policies designed to uplift communities and improve living standards.

“As we celebrate love today,” the Chairman stated, “let us remember that unity is our greatest strength. Through peace, cooperation, and mutual respect, we can build the Awgu of our dreams.”

He concluded by wishing all Ndi Awgu a Valentine’s Day filled with love, renewed hope, and shared prosperity.
