The Ondo State Local Government Election has commenced as accreditation and voting have begun.

At some polling units visited by our correspondent, accreditation of voters and voting commenced at exactly 9.30am but that was not the case in other units as late arrival of voting materials delayed the process with some units yet to receive the materials as of 10.30am.
UGAMATV had earlier reported that the exercise, which was earlier scheduled to hold in April 2020, was suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the Chairman of the state Independent Electoral Commission, Yomi Dinakin, had said last month that the election would hold on August 22.
A counselorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, in Ayotoro Ward in the Ilaje Council Area, Agere Olowoloba, said the election materials were not distributed at all polling units in the ward.
