Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be bandits, on Saturday morning attacked a Police Mobile Force camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing no fewer than three officers and leaving two others injured.
The attack was said to have happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, throwing the community into panic as gunfire reportedly echoed across the area.
The assailants reportedly stormed the police camp unexpectedly, overwhelming the officers on duty before carrying out the deadly operation.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Ejide Tohun, confirmed the attack, saying that details will be provided later.
