Lagos, FCT, 11 others report 466 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths

12 states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 466 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to figures released on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency also reported three COVID-19 related deaths. 

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Saturday.

According to the agency, the 466 new cases were recorded from Lagos, the FCT and 11 other states.

Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 134 cases, Rivers – 82, Edo – 69, Gombe – 39, FCT – 32, Kaduna – 21, Plateau – 20, Benue – 19, Kwara – 17, Delta – 16, Akwa Ibom – 10, Bayelsa – 5 and Kano – 2 cases

The health agency said the 466 new COVID-19 infections have

brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 198, 239

NCDC also stated that 185,780 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With seven COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from

the virus has risen to 2,588 NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
