The Labour Party, LP, has announced Hajja Bintu Konto as its vice presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the LP said Konto will run alongside its presidential candidate, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke.

The party said the decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders and reflects its commitment to presenting Nigerians with a leadership team defined by competence, integrity, inclusiveness, patriotism and a proven record of public service.

Hajja Konto is a nurse, midwife, health educator and public health specialist. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and has served as a lecturer in community health.

She is currently a member of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of the Global Fund in Nigeria and serves as the National Treasurer of the Civil Society for Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN), among other professional responsibilities.
