King Charles III has applauded Nigerian jollof rice, saying he was strongly convinced it stands out as the best.
The monarch made the remark while hosting Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at a state banquet, part of activities marking the president’s two-day official visit to the United Kingdom.
Speaking during the event, King Charles revealed that he recently entertained a group of Nigerians at a “Jollof and Tea” gathering held at St. James’s Palace. He joked that he was confidently told Nigerian jollof rice is the finest, though he playfully added that it could also be Ghanaian or Senegalese.
The King further praised the contributions of Nigerians living in the UK, noting that the country is fortunate to have a vibrant Nigerian community making significant impacts across sectors such as business, technology, academia, law, science, sports, literature, and the arts.
