Kidnapped Bayelsa High Court judge, Justice Umukoro, regains his freedom

Bayelsa state High Court Judge, Justice E.G. Umokoro, who was abducted by masked men in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, on Saturday, June 21, has regained his freedom.

 

 

 

 

Umukoro regained his freedom today July 3.

 

 

 

The Department of State Services (DSS) in Bayelsa State confirmed the judge’s release but did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of his freedom.

 

 

 

Ugamatv had earlier reported that on the day of his abduction, eyewitnesses said the gunmen, dressed in black uniforms, fired shots at him but missed. The attackers then blocked his path with an unmarked white Hilux van and forcibly took him away.

 

 

 

 

 

The gunmen did not steal the black Toyota Prado SUV he was driving at the time of the abduction.
