Three members of a delegation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State have died in a road accident while travelling to attend the party’s recently concluded national convention in Abuja.
The victims were identified as Hadiza Sabo Warrah, a councillor representing Warrah Ward; Sahabi Alheri, who represented Birnin Yauri Ward in Ngaski Local Government Area; and Abubakar Sadiq, Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Kebbi State on social media.
According to a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, the incident happened when the victims were hit by a moving vehicle while attempting to cross the road. Their car had reportedly stopped along the route as they travelled to the Federal Capital Territory for the APC convention.
Sarki stated that the three individuals died from the injuries they sustained in the accident.
Reacting to the tragedy, the Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, expressed shock over the development and offered condolences to the families of the deceased.
The governor described their deaths as a major loss to the state, noting that their contributions to Kebbi’s development would be greatly missed. He also prayed for the forgiveness of their sins and asked Allah to grant them eternal rest.
