More US Military Assets Deployed Amid Iran’s Readiness for Invasion

As the possibility of a ground offensive in Iran increases, the United States has deployed a third aircraft carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush, to the Middle East. It will join the USS Gerald R. Ford and the USS Abraham Lincoln already stationed in the region.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. may keep the three carrier strike groups in the area for an extended period as the conflict enters its 33rd day with no clear end in sight.

The Pentagon has also dispatched two EA-37B Compass Call electronic warfare aircraft from the U.S. Air Force to the United Kingdom ahead of their eventual deployment to the conflict zone. These aircraft are capable of intelligence gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as long-range jamming operations that can disrupt enemy communications, air defence systems and command networks.

The reinforcement of military assets also includes the deployment of the USS Tripoli, which carries transport and fighter aircraft along with sailors and marines from the Amphibious Ready Group and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Meanwhile, the UK’s Defence Secretary, John Healey, announced that the United Kingdom would send additional troops and air defence systems to support allies against potential attacks from Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to address the nation on Wednesday night regarding the war. Earlier, he told reporters at the White House that American troops might return home within two or three weeks. Trump also mocked Iran’s threat to target U.S. companies operating in the region.

On Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the country was ready for any ground confrontation and warned opponents not to underestimate its resilience. He confirmed that Tehran has been communicating with Washington but clarified that there are no formal negotiations, describing the exchanges as warnings or expressions of positions. He also reiterated that Iran would not agree to a ceasefire.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), through its Aerospace Commander Majid Mousavi, claimed responsibility for an attack on a residence used by U.S. pilots and aircrew in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, adding that it followed earlier strikes on surveillance aircraft, tankers and fuel facilities.

Hostilities between Iran and Israel continued over the past day. Iranian forces said they targeted facilities linked to Siemens and AT&T near Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and in Haifa, while the Israel Defense Forces reported carrying out strikes on weapons production sites inside Iran.
