The Kano State Police Command, on Thursday, said over 10,000 security personnel made up of policemen and officers of from sister security agencies have been deployed for the state local government council election scheduled to hold tomorrow (Saturday).

Spokesman for the Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said this while speaking to newsmen in Kano.He explained that the personnel comprise 7,251 police officers and men, while sister security agencies provided over 2,000 personnel to the joint effort.

He listed other agencies to include, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Correctional Service, among others.

Haruna also said, “The command is ready to ensure peaceful conduct of the election and will not condone any attempt to breach peace and stability by groups or individuals.”
