Kano Assembly Approves N215.3bn Supplementary Budget for Governor Yusuf

The Kano State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N215.3 billion following a formal request by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

 

The approval was granted during plenary on Monday after lawmakers engaged in extensive debate and a detailed review of the proposal.

 

Presiding over the session, Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore explained that the Assembly carefully scrutinised the budget before giving its nod.

 

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the supplementary budget is officially pegged at N215,378,374,543.62.

 

Speaker Falgore assured that the Assembly will not only back the governor’s developmental agenda but will also ensure that ministries, departments, and agencies remain accountable in the utilisation of the funds.

 

He stressed that strict legislative oversight will be deployed to monitor disbursement and spending, noting that transparency is key to ensuring the supplementary funds meet the needs of Kano residents.
