It Took Me Seven Years to Gain Spotlight – Kiekie

Popular skit maker and actress Kiekie has opened up about her long road to fame, revealing that it took seven years of dedication and hard work before she finally achieved mainstream success.

Speaking on the TTM Show hosted by Tobi Makinde, Kiekie described herself as a “late bloomer,” recalling how she began creating content in 2013 but didn’t gain widespread recognition until 2020.

“It literally took seven years to gain the spotlight,” she said. “I started creating content in 2013 but didn’t become widely known until 2020. It was seven years of me constantly doing what I love, funding it with the other jobs I was doing.”

To sustain her passion for content creation during those years, Kiekie worked as a fashion stylist—most notably styling singer Simi. Her first major breakthrough came in 2018 with her Fashion Shock Show, which quickly gained traction and opened doors to brand influencer opportunities.

“Some of those who knew me before I became popular as a content creator will remember I used to be a stylist. I was once Simi’s stylist,” she said. “My first viral content was the Fashion Shock Show that started in 2018. After that, I began getting some influencer gigs.”

Now known for her vibrant personality and comedic flair, Kiekie attributes her rise to stardom to years of consistency and relentless passion.

“The moment I hit the spotlight, it just continued like that,” she added, reflecting on her journey.

Kiekie’s story stands as a testament to perseverance in the face of delayed success, offering inspiration to aspiring creatives everywhere.
