Ireti Kingibe won’t return to Senate in 2027  —  Wike

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has vowed that Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the FCT in the Senate will not return to the red chamber in 2027.

Kingibe has repeatedly complained about Wike’s alleged ack of regard for her as the Senator representing the FCT. She has overtime accused Wike of refusing to work with her to ensure that people in the FCT get the dividends of democracy.

While speaking in a media chat he organised today March 2, Wike vowed to ensure that Ireti does not return to the Senate in 2027. In his words

‘’I have said it more than one year ago. Senator Ireti, you wouldn’t come back as a Senator. People don’t like those who say the truth. It is bitter.

Let me tell you why?I will go to the Satellite towns and communities and ask ‘Do you know her? Let her show one project! They all just abuse Wike

I want him to be my friend. Is it by force? I want us to collaborate, collaborate what? Nobody says you are not a Senator. Nobody says I am not a Minister. If I am a Minister, Minister well. If I am a Senator, make sure that you do well.”

When told that Senator Kinigbe complained that he never takes her calls each time she tries to reach out, Wike claimed that he doesn’t even have her number.
