IPOB carpets Uzodimma for denying Ebubeagu

The Indigenous People of Biafra has accused the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, of setting up the Ebubeagu security outfit as a militia group to carry out odd jobs for him.

The group berated the governor for denying the activities of Ebubeagu in the state when he was questioned about it recently.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Media and Publicity Secretary, IPOB, Emma Powerful, said Uzodimma’s denial of Ebubeagu had contradicted his earlier position, thus creating confusion everywhere, adding that it was too late for the governor to deny the outfit, which he set up as a militia for odd jobs.

The statement pointed out that Uzodimma made the denial in one of the gatherings he attended a few days ago when he was asked about the activities of Ebubeagu in Imo State.

The statement read in part, “Our attention has been drawn to the recent confession by Hope Uzodimma of Imo State over the operation of the infamous Ebubeagu security outfit. Uzodimma denied knowing any activities of the Ebubeagu security outfit in Imo State when he was asked about their infamous activities. Uzodimma should please be told that it’s too late for him to deny Ebubeagu. He set the militia group up for odd jobs.

“The enemies’ camp in the region is confused now. Uzodimma said that anywhere people see Ebubeagu, they should kill them. But we know the antics of Hope Uzodimma. He is only telling lies about Ebubeagu.

IPOB gathered through intelligence that out of anger, the Ebubeagu team went to Imo State Police Area Command in Orlu to complain about the latest development by the governor. But unfortunately, it resulted in some confrontation that led to the killing of two Ebubeagu militia militiamen by the police. Ebubeagu killed one DPO and six other inspectors of police in the Orlu Area Command.

The Nigeria JTF has moved into Orsumoghu in Anambra State with their armed personnel carrier and over 10 Hilux pickups, shooting sporadically in the town since Monday. The enemies are trying the patience of our people. They should not take our patience for weakness.”
