Inspiring Hope’: Villa Toscana Foundation Donates ₦1 Million, Expands Scholarships, and Supports the Vulnerable in Enugu

The atmosphere at Villa Toscana Hotel, Independence Layout, Enugu, was filled with renewed hope on Sunday, November 16, 2025, as the Villa Toscana Foundation conducted yet another impactful empowerment outreach. With the theme “Touching Lives, Inspiring Hope: A Humane Path to Poverty Alleviation,” the event highlighted the Foundation’s growing legacy of transforming lives and strengthening communities.

Foundation’s Vision and Humanitarian Strides

Founded by High Chief Francis (Frank) Obasi, the Villa Toscana Foundation has gained recognition for its broad humanitarian interventions spanning education, healthcare, welfare, and human capital development. The Foundation currently sponsors over 50 university students across Nigeria, supports indigent patients with hospital bills, and provides targeted community assistance to underserved populations.

₦1 Million Gesture to Family of Late Mrs. Helen Obasi

The emotionally gripping moment of the program occurred when Chief Obasi announced a ₦1 million donation to the family of the late Mrs. Helen Obasi, who was murdered by unknown assailants during the 2023 election campaigns.

Rt. Hon. Okey Ude, who narrated the events leading to her tragic death, commended the Foundation’s founder for standing by the family:

“What Chief Francis has done today shows true humanity. His compassion has given this family renewed hope despite the painful loss they endured.”

Chief Obasi: “Assistance Is About Intention, Not Wealth”

Addressing the audience, High Chief Francis Obasi spoke on the inspiration behind his philanthropic mission:

“Helping people does not require being the richest man. What matters is the sincerity of your intention. If you have the heart to assist, God will provide the means.”

He urged Nigerians to cultivate compassion and extend support to one another, especially in difficult economic times.

Beneficiaries Share Their Experiences

The event celebrated several scholarship recipients who expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation:
• Mr. Ude Harrison, a law graduate, shared his inspiring academic journey made possible by the Foundation’s sponsorship. He acknowledged Chief Obasi’s influence in shaping his future:
“The Foundation lifted a burden I could not carry alone. Today, I stand here as a law graduate because someone believed in me.”
• Miss Afamefuna Jenifer Somtochukwu, a medical student, thanked the Foundation for supporting her dreams in the demanding field of medicine:
“This scholarship has been a lifeline. It motivates me daily to give back to society when I become a doctor.”
• Miss Adaugo Egbula, a fashion design student, expressed joy at the opportunity to pursue her passion:
“I am becoming a professional fashion designer because someone gave me a chance. I am forever grateful.”

Scholarship Extension for Law School

In another touching moment, Chief Obasi extended Mr. Harrison’s scholarship to cover his Nigerian Law School expenses. The announcement was met with loud applause from guests moved by the symbolic act of continued support.

Family of Late Mrs. Obasi Expresses Gratitude

The daughter of the late Mrs. Helen Obasi, Mrs. Eucharia Obasi, delivered an emotional message of appreciation:

“Chief Francis has wiped tears from our eyes today. God will bless him for remembering our family in our time of pain.”

Commendations from Awgu LGA Representative

Bringing the event to a close, Hon. Nelson Uduji, who represented the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, offered words of praise and encouragement:

“Chief Francis Obasi’s generosity is exceptional and worthy of emulation. May God continue to strengthen and expand the Villa Toscana Foundation.”

A Lasting Impact
