I’m the Only National Secretary, Anyanwu Boasts, Dares Governors to Indict Him

The embattled National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Samuel Anyanwu, has said he is the undisputable occupant of the position.

Anyanwu said no force within the party, including Julius Berger, can remove him as the PDP’s National Secretary.

He disclosed this at the ongoing Southeast PDP Zonal stakeholders’ meeting.

Anyanwu also vowed to resign if Governor Peter Mbah and other PDP governors indict him of collecting anything from them.

He said: “I am the only National Secretary of the PDP, and no force, not even a Julius Berger crane, can remove me from this position.

“I dare Governor Peter Mbah and every PDP Governor to publicly say if I have taken a bottle of water from them. If anyone does, I will resign immediately.”

Also, the Senate Minority Whip, Osita Ngwu, urged the party to consider the Southeast Caucus candidate, Ude-Okoye.

Ngwu said the position of the Caucus should not be jettisoned by the party.

He said: “Our prayer and appeal is that this party should carefully look into our request in line with what has been done in the past. Precedents have been set, so we are asking you to look at the zone.

“The request of this zone should not be jettisoned. We are not here to give orders, but to make an appeal so that the decision that will be taken will be for the growth of the Party.”

There has been a crisis over the authentic occupant of the PDP’s National Secretary between Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye.

The crisis started when Anyanwu left to contest the governorship election in Imo State but he lost.

Following his departure, the Southeast Caucus had nominated Ude-Okoye as its candidate to occupy the office.

Meanwhile, former Imo State governor, Achike Udenwa had insisted that the forces backing Anyanwu are not superior to the Southeast Caucus.
