Factional President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Isah, has publicly retracted his earlier allegations against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and issued an apology over claims he now admits were fabricated.
Isah had previously alleged in a viral video that he was offered N100 million by Seyi Tinubu and Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Ayodele Olawande, in exchange for his support for President Tinubu. He also claimed the rejection of the offer led to his abduction on April 15, 2025.
However, in a statement posted to his Facebook page on Wednesday, Isah acknowledged the allegations were false and apologized to Seyi Tinubu, stating he had been misled.
“The offer of N100,000,000, which I claimed was made to me, was completely untrue,” Isah wrote.
“Ladoja Olusola, who was desperate to remove me from my legitimate position as NANS President, fed me with lies and half-truths to serve his selfish ambition of taking over the student leadership through the backdoor.”
He further claimed that Olusola manipulated him into believing that Seyi Tinubu posed a threat to his life, even warning that the President’s son could “order his killing” and cover it up with the help of the Inspector-General of Police.
Isah also recanted another of his accusations—that Seyi Tinubu had led thugs to disrupt his inauguration ceremony—admitting that Seyi was never present at the venue.
The apology comes amid ongoing internal leadership struggles within NANS, with factional disputes casting a shadow over the student body’s credibility.
