Hamas Warns of Consequences Amid Escalating Israel-Iran Tensions

A senior member of Hamas’s political bureau, Izzat al-Risheq, has issued a stern warning amid the ongoing hostilities between Israel and Iran, stating that “whoever attacks will pay the price.”

Al-Risheq made the statement following Iran’s recent retaliatory missile strikes on multiple targets within Israel. The attacks, which took place between Friday night and early Saturday, were in response to prior Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory.

Images circulating online showed extensive damage to homes, with some completely destroyed and others partially affected. Israel’s national emergency medical services confirmed that at least 21 people were being treated and evacuated following rocket strikes in the coastal plain region.

Al-Risheq, speaking via Hamas’s official Telegram account, described the Iranian assault as a “clear message” to Israel, asserting that “dozens of precision missiles and drones successfully hit their targets deep inside the entity, despite all the hype about Israel’s defence system.”

He concluded: “The message of the response is clear: whoever attacks will pay the price.”

The exchange marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, raising international concerns over the possibility of a broader conflict.
