A socio-political organization, the Abia Patriotic Front, has released a devastating statement against David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, the 73-year-old senatorial aspirant who recently sparked outrage by describing respected elders at an All Progressives Congress (APC) meeting as “mad people spewing incoherent nonsense.”

In a blistering press statement, the group exposed what it called “the complete dossier of a desperate political chameleon, a man of no character, with the stench of unanswered fraud allegations clinging to him like a second skin.”

According to the statement issued by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Uche Ndukwe, the most damning revelation about Bourdex is his brief stint as caretaker chairman of Ohafia Local Government—a position he did not win, but begged and lobbied for like a man clutching at relevance.

“Young men in their 20s and 30s are winning elections, earning mandates, representing their people. David Ogba Bourdex, at 73, has never won anything in his entire life except the pity of those who appoint him. He had to lobby desperately for a caretaker position that requires no votes—competing with men young enough to be his grandchildren,” the statement read.

Even that caretaker tenure, the group noted, was a carnival of division, harassment, and allegations of fraud. The statement quoted political analyst Hon. Ikechi Anya: “A man of means and age suddenly experimenting with crude flattery resembles an adult insisting on being fed with a bottle. It signals nothing but desperation—and desperation in a 73-year-old is not ambition. It Is delusion.”

Behind Bourdex’s carefully crafted façade of a “successful businessman,” the group alleged, lies a labyrinth of financial scandal spanning decades. “Bourdex Telecom emerged during the chaotic liquidation of NITEL—a period investigators have described as a feeding frenzy where public assets were looted with impunity. Industry insiders have long whispered: how did he acquire telecom infrastructure worth hundreds of millions? What was the true source of his start-up capital? To this day, Bourdex has only answered with silence.”

The group further alleged that banking sources confirm Bourdex’s accounts showed massive, unexplained inflows during the late 1990s and early 2000s—transactions that bore no relation to his declared business activities. “When your bank statements scream louder than your explanations, reasonable people draw only one conclusion.”

The statement also dredged up Bourdex’s brief tenure as appointed caretaker chairman of Ohafia Local Government, alleging financial impropriety. “During his tenure, contracts were awarded to Bourdex-linked companies like confetti at a wedding. Multiple sources confirm that funds allocated for community projects allegedly vanished into thin air—with either substandard execution or no execution at all. A civil servant who dared to question these shady transactions was allegedly physically assaulted by Bourdex and threatened to be ‘disappeared’ if he didn’t learn to keep quiet. This is the man who wants to make laws for Abia North?”

Perhaps the most embarrassing section of the statement detailed Bourdex’s history of groveling before the very leaders he now attacks with the fury of a scorned beggar.

“The same Bourdex who now obsessively attacks Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was once his most vocal praise-singer, riding on the coattails of political structures Kalu built across Abia State. Today, he calls Kalu a ‘dying masquerade.’ Yesterday, he was dancing naked to the masquerade’s music.”

On former Governor T. A. Orji and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the group noted that in August 2025, Bourdex viciously attacked their administrations as “clueless in the art of governance.” Yet this is the same Bourdex who, according to the group, came crying to these former governors when his finances dried up and benefited from their administrations through proxies appointed to key positions. He and his associates collected salaries, ate from the government’s table, and smiled for photographs—before turning around to bite the very hands that fed them.

“This is not leadership. This is political prostitution of the highest order—selling loyalty to the highest bidder, then attacking former clients to impress new ones. Today he is licking the boots of Governor Alex Otti with the enthusiasm of a hungry dog. Tomorrow, when a new government comes into power, he will call Otti mad and dance to a new master’s tune. At 73, he has no ideology, no principles, no shame—only an empty stomach barking for relevance.”

The group concluded by advising Ogba to turn a new leaf, noting that at his age, building a legacy should matter more than chasing contracts and appointments. “A man who has spent 73 years on earth and has nothing to show but a trail of unanswered questions and political U-turns should consider retirement, not the Senate.”

Efforts to reach Mr. David Ogba Bourdex for his response to the allegations contained in the statement proved abortive as of press time. Repeated calls to his known telephone line rang out unanswered, while a text message sent to his number had not been replied to.
