Amid ongoing violence in Plateau State, a Facebook user identified as Musa Idris Ubandoma, who claims to be Fulani, has stirred outrage online after issuing alarming conditions for peace in the region—threatening continued bloodshed if his demands are not met.
This comes in the wake of another tragic attack in the state, where over 30 people were reportedly killed by suspected armed herdsmen. Governor Caleb Mutfwang had described the killings as a massacre and expressed deep frustration over the failure of security agencies to respond despite prior intelligence.
However, while families are still mourning their losses, Ubandoma posted a series of incendiary statements on Facebook, saying Plateau State would only know peace if certain political and religious conditions are fulfilled. His demands include:
A Fulani Muslim as Deputy Governor
The appointment of a Muslim Secretary to the State Government (SSG)
Allocation of Ruga land
Government support for Islamic pilgrimage
He ended the post with a veiled threat: “We are one. We must live in peace, if not RIP.”
In another post, Ubandoma made more inflammatory remarks, claiming:
“Plateau belongs to the Fulani. We will keep destroying those who want to stop us. Useless Arnes. We must become deputy, then governor. Implement Shari’a. Allah Akbar.”
He further insisted that Fulani cattle must be allowed to graze on any farmland in Nigeria, warning against restrictions or the seizure of cows.
Despite public outcry and multiple tags directed at security agencies, his posts remained visible at the time of this report, with no official response yet from the authorities.
Many Nigerians have since called for his immediate arrest, citing hate speech, incitement to violence, and promotion of religious extremism.
