Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on political matters to President Bola Tinubu, has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to shelve his presidential ambition and groom a younger person.
Baba-Ahmed made this statement on Wednesday, when he appeared as a guest on ‘Focus Nigeria’, a programme on African Independent Television, AIT.

According to him, Atiku should not aspire to be president of Nigeria but a father figure and a hero of democracy.

“He is a very prominent member of the PDP, a founding member of the PDP. Vice President for eight years.He competed three times, contested three times. He is a highly respected person.

“I think he should be a hero of democracy, but I didn’t think he should aspire to even lead this country. I think he should be a father figure.

“He should be involved in the building of an alternative to APC, but he should bring in new blood, new perspectives, new people, and say the future belongs to you. We will stand behind you,” Baba-Ahmed said.
