FG secures release of 100 schoolchildren abducted in Niger State

The Federal Government has secured the release of 100 pupils who were abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.

 

 

 

 

 

Channel Television confirmed the development on Sunday, December 7, 2025 though no official statement has been issued at press time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Suspected terrorists on November 21, 2025, stormed the school and abducted a total of 303 pupils, students, and staff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

About fifty pupils managed to escape from captivity within the first 24 hours and were reunited with their families.

 

 

 

 

 

With 100 released according to the federal government, 153 pupils and 12 teachers are still held captive.
