FG Declares Free Tuition, Accommodation, Feeding for Students in Technical Colleges

The Federal Government has announced a comprehensive free education package for students enrolled in both federal and state technical colleges across Nigeria.

Under the new initiative, students will benefit from free tuition, accommodation, and feeding, along with a monthly stipend of ₦22,500.

Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, disclosed the development during the official launch of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme in Abuja on Friday.

Dr. Alausa stated that the initiative is part of the government’s strategy to attract more young Nigerians to vocational and technical education, equipping them with practical skills that will enhance their employability and contribution to national development.

“This initiative is aimed at incentivizing young people to embrace technical education and acquire the skills necessary to become productive members of society,” the minister said.
