As the month of February unfolds with renewed hope and fresh possibilities, the he Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has declared the month of February a season of renewed hope, unity, and expanded opportunities for sustainable development across Awgu.
In a New Month message to Ndi Awgu, the Chairman, through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, called on residents to embrace peace, diligence, mutual respect, and community spirit as key drivers of grassroots transformation.
Hon. Okolo urged citizens to actively participate in the ongoing APC membership e-registration exercise, describing it as a strategic opportunity for political inclusion and stronger connection to the centre.
“This is not just a party exercise; it is a community project and a political investment in the future of Awgu. When our people are fully registered and represented, our voice becomes stronger, our opportunities expand, and our development accelerates,” the Chairman stated.
Reflecting on the administration’s journey so far, the Chairman expressed gratitude to God and the people of Awgu for their unwavering support, noting that the progress recorded in recent months was made possible through collective effort and unity of purpose.
He also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and bold infrastructural initiatives, which he said have repositioned Enugu State as a hub of innovation, economic growth, and modern development.
According to Hon. Okolo, Governor Mbah’s transformative agenda has created an enabling environment for local governments to function effectively and deliver impactful projects at the grassroots.
“Governor Mbah has turned Enugu State into a construction site. At the grassroots, we are replicating the same development drive. Enugu is steadily becoming the pride of the South East, and Awgu is fully aligned with this vision through inclusive, people-centred governance,” the Chairman stated.
Looking ahead, Hon. Okolo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to consolidating ongoing projects and initiating new ones in critical sectors such as water supply, road infrastructure, security, education, health, and social welfare.
He assured Ndi Awgu that flagship initiatives, including the Awgu Water for All Initiative, road projects linking Smart Green Schools, enhanced security infrastructure, and other people-oriented programmes, would be sustained and expanded to ensure that development reaches every community.
The Chairman concluded by wishing Ndi Awgu a peaceful, prosperous, and productive month of February, expressing hope that the months ahead will usher in greater unity, progress, good health, and shared prosperity across Awgu Local Government Area.
