The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has described the launch of Enugu Air by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah as a historic breakthrough that has opened the floodgates of economic prosperity for the people of the South-East.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the National President of the Council, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, said Governor Mbah has redefined innovation and visionary governance, turning Enugu State into a model of modern economic management.

According to Okwu, the successful unveiling of Enugu Air is not just a transportation milestone, but a clear demonstration of prudent economic stewardship and strategic foresight.

“This is the first of its kind in the entire South-East and the second in the country, after Akwa Ibom. It is a milestone achievement that speaks volumes and deserves national applause,” he stated.

The youth leader noted that the project would generate massive employment opportunities, especially for young people across the region, highlighting that one of the airline’s captains is a youth from Enugu State.

“This is a clear indication that Enugu Air will empower our youths, create jobs, and accelerate the economic development of the South-East,” he added.

Okwu also commended the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for its swift approval of Enugu Air’s domestic operations, saying it signals the seriousness of the initiative. He expressed optimism that the airline will soon obtain its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and expand its operations independently.

He called on the people of Enugu State and the South-East at large to rally behind Governor Mbah’s administration, putting aside political differences in the interest of regional growth and economic transformation.

“Governor Mbah is demonstrating real governance. This is not about politics. It’s about progress. We must support him wholeheartedly,” Okwu concluded.
