El-Rufai mourns as bandits kill two Baptist worshippers, three others

Following the killing of two persons at the Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai on Mondaycondoled the families of the victims.

Some bandit had attacked and killed two while scores were abducted.

The incident took place on Sunday, according to the President of the Kaduna Baptist Convention, Rev. Ishaya Jangado.

The state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, quoted the governor to have commiserated with the bereaved families.

The commissioner said, “The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has condoled families that lost their loved ones in Chikun and Igabi local government areas following attacks by bandits.

“Security forces have reported that the bandits attacked worshippers at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakkau Daji in Chikun LGA where a worshipper (Yusuf Dauda) was killed and unspecified number kidnapped. One worshipper Musa Yusuf was injured.

“Similarly, bandits killed one local (Dahiru Sani) at Kangon Kadi general area of the same LGA, and one person (Bello Alhaji) at Barebari in Igabi LGA.

“In the same LGA, bandits at Sauran Giwa general area killed Hakilu Umar and Muntari Umar while they were returning from a religious function.

“The governor prayed for the repose of their souls and charged security forces to intensify their efforts in securing lives and properties in the state.”
